From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Trainers are programs made to modify behaviour of a computer game, usually using addresses and values, in order to allow cheating.
In the 1980s and 1990s, trainers were generally integrated straight into the actual game by cracking groups. When the game was first started, the trainer loaded first, asking the player if he/she wished to cheat. Then the code would proceed to the actual game. In the cracker group release lists and intros, trained games were marked with one or more plus signs after them, one for each option in the trainer, for example: 'teh Mega Krew presents: Ms. Astro Chicken++'.
Nowadays trainers also come as separately downloadable programs; instead of modifying the game's programming directly, values stored in memory are changed instead.]. Alternative, you can set it up in like this. $HOME system trainers In this example, you copy the downloaded trainer files to XBMC/System/Trainers/ Update trainers list The first thing you MUST do, is to scan the trainer folder. This procedure puts all trainers in an 'Index'.
Whenever you download new trainers, this procedure must be repeated. Here's how it's done: • Enter My Programs • Choose 'Games' on the left tab (if games aren't already in view).
• Put 'cursor' on a gameicon and hit 'WHITE' (on controller) or 'TITLE' (on remote) to bring up the contextmenu. • Choose 'Update trainer list'. Now a scan takes place, making an index of the titleid's the trainers are to be used with. Results are saved to XBMC/albums/myprograms*.db. After scan is complete, if one or several matching trainers were found, you now have a new option available in the contextmenu.
Trainer Settings This menu contains options to • Enable/Disable trainers • Change options for chosen trainer Here's how it works. The default view says 'None'. This means trainer/s are available BUT disabled.
If you use the spincontrols to the right, you can browse the trainers found for this game. When a trainer shows its name and its options, that means it is enabled. Below the name of the trainer are the options for the chosen trainer. Enable or disable the options as you like.
