I filed a support request and got a prompt response directing me to some troubleshooting steps. Unfortunately, none of them worked – Windows 7 still can’t see a driver. The next advised step is to send the recorder in for repair or exchange, but there’s nothing wrong with it – my old computer can still connect to it fine. So even though this recorder is still relatively new, it looks like I have no choice but to buy a new one if I want it to work with my new PC. This time I’ll get an Olympus. Please read carefully. There are multiple situations with multiple issues all associated with a single ICD-P620.
1) I have been using a ICD-P620 on Windows XP in a VMWare virtual machine on Mac OSX for at least 6 years. I have DVEdit 3.3.01 installed in the Windows VM. I recently updated Mac OSX to 10.9.4.

Now the P620 will connect to DVEdit (in the Windows VM) and I can play voice files directly from the P620 in the left pane. But when I try to drag-n-drop the voice files to my local drive in the right pane, the Communicating dialog appears and then disappears a few seconds later.
The second time I try to drag and drop any voice file, DVEdit crashes. 1a) I've tried connecting the P620 before and after launching DVEdit.
